Winning Weekends

Keep moving forward.

Did the past week not go so well? It went by as a hectic flash of fulfilling other people’s needs. Dealing with difficult colleagues, bosses and customers. Managing an ever growing of E-Mail backlog of “Thoughts?” and completing tasks that get you little recognition just to be rewarded with a nice long commute with all the worst drivers on the planet. You sit in traffic thinking to yourself you need to find a new job, a better commute, do amazing things and make a millions of dollars. This is it! You’ve had enough!

Fifty Hours Later…

Argghh Monday! You’re tired, cranky, and sluggish back at the job you hate! How did this happen?!? I’m never going to get out of here… five more days of this!!! Dammit!!!

If this is you, you need to audit your weekend.

Did you go to sleep at a reasonable time, get 8 hours of sleep and wake up early?

Did you spend some time exercising, reading, reflecting, learning, thinking, writing, planning, connecting, dreaming, strategizing?

…Or did you stay up all night, sleep-in, drink, eat, rush, rage, spend, complain, repeat?

What you do with your weekend gives you leverage to unstick your week. Use this leverage to your advantage.

Dreams don’t come to you, you have to chase them down.

You should wake up every morning feeling closer to your dreams (even on Mondays).
